About
A grand 1927 movie palace turned McMenamins brewpub theater. Catch first-run features, repertory favorites, and the occasional concert beneath its restored proscenium, with beer, pizza, and full meals served to your seat.
Built in 1927 by Universal Pictures, the Bagdad is one of Portland's great surviving movie palaces — an ornate, Arabian Nights-themed hall on Hawthorne Boulevard. Rescued and restored by McMenamins, it has hosted world premieres (including several of director Gus Van Sant's films) and remains a beloved spot to catch a film with a pint in hand.
