A plush, grown-up dine-in cinema where first-run movies arrive with farm-to-table food and drinks delivered to your seat. Studio One's seven small themed auditoriums, full restaurant, and 21-and-over bar make it more night-out than multiplex — many evening screenings are 21+.
One of Portland's newest independent cinemas, Studio One Theaters opened in 2018 on SE Powell Boulevard. It was built by Rudyard and Shelly Coltman — Rudyard had earlier founded the Cinetopia dine-in chain — as a food-and-film destination rather than a conversion of an older movie house. Its seven intimate 'Penthouse' auditoriums are each individually themed and outfitted with custom furnishings, the largest seating just 55.
