Week of June 11 – 17, 2026
60 films across 17 independent theaters in Portland this week. Disclosure Day is here! Steven Spielberg loves aliens. He's been fixated on them since childhood. From an early student film to Close Encounters, ET, War of the Worlds, and Lincoln, aliens feature prominently in his filmography. Okay not Lincoln, though there's an argument to be made about what planet Daniel Day Lewis is from. I'm excited to see it. UFOs make for great cinematography, especially when Spielberg is at the helm.

It's a great weekend to go to an air conditioned, dark theater to see this or any movie because.... "I have today's forecast for you: HOT! That's right, it's gonna be hot and damn, hot!" So stay cool and maybe see Do The Right Thing at Cinema 21 on Saturday. A perfect summer movie.
